Add Meta-Data Field Unique Document ID Number
In the current situation there is no unique document number ID.
Without unique identifiers, there is a significant risk of duplication and confusion. Unique document IDs prevent multiple copies of the same document from being treated as distinct files, thereby maintaining data integrity and consistency. This avoids the inefficiencies and errors that can arise from working with outdated or redundant information.
A unique document ID number is crucial for a document management system (DMS) as it ensures accurate tracking and retrieval of documents, prevents duplication, and supports efficient version control.

I think this would be a valuable addition to have.
Maybe it could be part of the fieldreference function for meta-data fields?
Automating the value of a field based on a nr.series, same as we can do with the automated-value for a user?
Using a Nr.series would ensure the consistency our customers need in the numbering and flexible enough to set up multiple different setups if needed. -

Michael Pardulla AdminHi Remi, this suggestion has been implemented. In the next version of Document Central, a hash value will be added for newly stored documents.
Additionally, a follow-up feature is on the roadmap to assign hash values to documents that have already been stored. However, this development will not be available in the next release. -

MarcelHello Michael,
Where can I find these numbers ID's?
I expected a new column to be visible with the record ID of a document, or am I overlooking it? -

Michael Pardulla AdminHi Marcel,
The hash value is available in the document entry list. Additionally, if you're in the data grid, there's an action that allows you to view the unique ID number.

BrunoThanks Michael, the only missing thing is that we cannot see the value in the doc previewer.
So a user, can see the unique number from the previewer. (can be with a function in the ribbon)
